- Richard TIn 1979 I was a passenger in a vehicle which was virtually destroyed in a collision. My right hip joint was badly damaged and many muscles in my back and shoulders were torn. My physical therapist recommended the large Thermophore pad for home treatment. This item has seen countless hours of use over the years, during which time I have had the hip joint replaced, and have experienced arthritic changes in the damaged parts of my body. Over more than 35 years of use it still works as advertised, although the original cover is falling apart! Obviously the quality and materials in the manufacture of this amazing piece of equipment were first class. I am in my mid 70's now, and I fear the Thermophore may even outlast me!
